Moving forward on the "Bucket List"...although one could say we are more in a free float. I liked it better when we kept it tight, providing us with a sense of direction. Although I must admit it can be a great adventure when the plans get upended and often I don't know what to look for until I see it. It seems like the more recent point of travel is to have my sense of possibility expanded and to remind us that life generally has plans for us much wiser than the ones we might have concocted ourselves. So I thank dear Cherie, our travel agent, for the utmost patience for working with us to put this adventure together for Boca and Bubs. No easy task. This 64 still wants to have fun.
Having read "You Don't Look Your Age and Other Fairy Tales"...yeah sure, that is what people say to older people. How is 64 supposed to look? What I do love about 64 is that I can say, do and be what I want to. And I have learned, curiosity is a key ingredient to longevity. Seems to me, if you are always curious as to what is behind the door- you'll always open it. And the more doors you open, the more places you will go and the more things you will see. I'd like to think I have gotten smarter as I have gotten older in spite of being more forgetful. But alas, the older I get the less I know. Some of us may even get braver. Lots of practice falling/failing and getting back up I suppose.
I have learned that life is uncertain so why not enjoy the day?
I have also learned many things in recent years and in particular, to wear comfortable shoes- especially when you travel. I have learned to enjoy the travels and travails of being a part of Bubba and Boca. So here we go again, after a hiatus last summer of our retirement travels. Do say a prayer for dear Bubba that he can keep up with each glorious day- planned and unplanned....and of course hope springs eternal that Boca will not drive him crazier than usual. There are not many empty spaces on this next adventure calendar but let's see what we do with the precious time together.
